Taking the slow route

I'm taking Beth Smith's advice...combing my Jacob instead of carding it.  I'm ecstatic with the result...no neps!  The down side is, combing 4 Jacob fleeces may take the rest of my days...

In other news...the little LadyBug bag is finished.

and I've been spinning this pretty single with some roving I bought from Winding Wool Creek Fiber.  She makes the most amazing multi-color roving. click to biggie-size photos

My friend Emily has a new Etsy shop...you should go visit her!  Here.  You'll like her stuff, it's very pretty.

I spun and plied this past week too...
The dogs have been super lazy, maybe it's the cooler weather that lets them rest better.

I know I've been sleeping better since the temperature dropped to autumn levels this week.  Guess it's time to dig out some long pants.

Have a great weekend!  Thanks for stopping by.  Go check out the Fiber Arts Friday peeps.

Hooray for Autumn. I think I am going to start soaking and washing my Jacob this weekend...I guess I had better find my combs too. Luckily I only have one fleece to contend with. Thanks for the links to new shops. I am such an Etsy addict. Happy Fiber Arts Friday!

i am sure little dog is happy for the cooler weather too.
Umm. Thinking of you combing for the rest of your life. Whew. I have one fleece that I need to comb too. I feel your pain. :)

I'm with Vivian - the dogs might like what's there, but they might also like a few more. I know my George Bailey has a few, and that's not quite enough. :)

Hooray for you and autumn! Of course, we're getting the hottest weather of the year here in the Pacific Northwest ... :)

Pretty bag and lovely pink yarn! Good luck with the fleece, it sounds like a lot of work.

Sam actually has a large size bed in his favorite night-time sleeping spot. However, when I'm in the office/spinning/knitting/quilting room he likes to hang out and hog LittleDog's alternate venue bed(he has one next to the bed by me also). Thanks for the sympathy about the combing...I should be killer-awesome at it by the time I get done with it all though.

Cute bag and lovely yarn. I like the idea of fleece prep much more than actaully doing it. I am tempted to find a mill this year (I only have one fleece) but ones that will take small quantities are much rarer in the UK
