We Retreated

Twisting & Tangling at Lily's last weekend was so nice. I got a lot of knitting done, did a little spinning on demand, ate some good food and got to hang out with my knitting peeps.  In addition to that, we had typical Michigan winter weather. Cold, windy and snowing!  Perfect.

Here are a few pics from the weekend.
 Lily's Cottage
 Lake Michigan
 a few pretty lights
 A perfect Christmas tree
(if you have a really tall room to put it in)
my contribution to the yarn bombing
of the sign for the cottage
just before sunset on Saturday evening

Nice and wintery scenery don't you think? It was toasty inside though...
and I got to spin some yarn for a special project that Scott was working on...
I'd say that's a pretty good fox color
All too soon it was time to head home...
Wish you all could have been there.

I'm about 2/3 of the way done with the daisy stitch hat that I'm knitting with the remaining TSBAS alpaca yarn (I need to think of a name for this hat).  Once I got the hang of those k3tog thingies it's been rockin along pretty well.
I'm also working on AnUglySock...
it actually looks better in this picture than it does in person.

Thank you all for your kind comments on last week's post...Kathryn, the daisy stitch is k3tog (don't take the yarn off the needle), yo, k3tog into the same stitches...I think I'm getting pretty good at it now.

LittleDog believes that when the weather is cold like this it's best enjoyed from a nice warm spot indoors.
Have a great week! Be sure to visit all the crafty peeps that participate in Fiber Arts Friday over on Andrea's blog.

That looks like a lovely weekend. The name "Twisting & Tangling" is also quite clever.

And your Fox and Hedgehog are super cute!

I envy you your lovely weekend...despite all of that white stuff!!
(Even though I grew up in Cleveland, I've lived in Philly
over 20 years now and have almost forgotten what snow looks like!) Yeesh!

What a fun weekend!! Great photo of the sunset. Your hat turned out wonderfully!
Now I think L.D. looks as if he is waiting for you teach him how to use that sewing machine! xx to LD.
BTW LD has me seriously thinking about a doggie. Not a pug, however, a LGD. Great Pyrenees?

I wish I could have been there, too! It looks like the most perfect knitting weekend - all cozy and warm.
I love that picture of little dog!

None of my dogs would ever sit in a chair like that, but then again we tend to collect little monkeys ...

Your retreat looks wonderful, so nice to get away with knitting friends. The yarn for your ugly sock actually looks very interesting. Is it in your Ravelry projects?

Thank you all for visiting and leaving comments.

Vivian: I just started the sock last weekend so haven't had a chance to put it in my projects yet...but I will. It's Opal yarn.

Carlin: I cannot take credit for the retreat name. That came from the organizer's brain.

Tamara: You should go with a Tibetan Mastiff, they are dark colors. I can't imagine trying to keep a white dog clean.

Lindsay: I'll be keeping this hat since it matches the big sweater I just finished for my husband.

It looks like you had a fabulous weekend.

I love the shot of Little Dog too.

I was just going to mention Tibetan Mastiffs to Tamara. We have two. They're perfect with the alpacas. Our breeder is actually expecting puppies next month. :-)

Oh, and thank you for the daisy stitch instruction. :-)

What a lovely escape. That sweet time passes all too quickly, doesn't it? How nice that you had a fun time.

I see your hat if finally slouching. Looks much better with the slouch. Pictures are great as usual. Little dog should stay inside or he might get buried in the snow.

The pictures look like the perfect winter wonderland.

What a cozy retreat! Ours was rustic and in the mountains but alas, no snow. Love the wild sock!
