The sun was actually shining!

Hello! Thank you for your visit today. I hope the sun is shining wherever you are too.

Another week has flown by and I'm not sure how that happens. I've been doing a bit of knitting and not much spinning. I'm really trying to get more spinning in but something always pulls me away.

I have a few pretty pictures for you this week. First is the beautiful glass pendant I won in the auction for Dutch...
Then there is the TGV Shawl that I've started for a retreat I'm going to in a few weeks. eek I'm using a skein of Jitterbug I've had for quite awhile. It's nice and springy and the colors are nice and bright...
And lastly my oh-so-shiny beaded cowl...
The Saint's foot is healing nicely, thank you for your kind words, and he's actually behaving himself so he can get back on his feet, with shoes, as soon as possible.

Have a great week! Remember to check out what others are creating over at Wisdom Begins In Wonder.

In recovery mode...

again. The Saint had a little surgery on his left foot last Friday. He's healing well and trying hard to behave himself...at least that's what he says. (all pics can be biggie-sized by clicking)
In other news...I'm having a good time knitting with beads. Only drawback is that I have to be in a place where I can keep the beads under control. That can be difficult.  I was sitting in my recliner the other night adding some beads and one of them got away. I had to chase that thing all over myself. Thankfully I got it back on the crochet hook and corraled in the yarn. Here's my progress so far...
I like how the beads look like dewdrops on a spider web in this next photo...
I'm thinking I should have used a much larger needle to cast on. The beginning edge of this cowl is going to need some serious blocking.

I finished one sock...
and here it is folded from the heel side...
I got another nice gift this week. Emily brought me a skein of Rainy Days & Wooly Dogs yarn called "Cake or Death?" It makes me so very happy since I'm an Eddie Izzard fan.

I hope you all have had a nice week with lots of fiber time. You should go to Wisdom Begins in Wonder and see what some of my friends are doing with their fiber. Thank you for stopping in.  Be sure to say hey in the comments.

LittleDog loves reading your comments.

Beaded Lace

Hello and welcome to another Fiber Arts Friday post.

I started a new project this week. It's just what I needed to get me happy with my knitting again...
beaded lace, Malabrigo yarn and gold seed beads. Size 8 needles and size 10 crochet hook for the beading. The pattern is called Jeweled Cowl. I've gotten far enough that I believe it's time to use a longer cable.  This one is only 16" and the stitches are a bit cramped as, I'm sure, you can see. It's so much fun!

Instead of a LittleDog picture today I'd like to ask you to go check out the emergency auction for Dutch on Facebook.  Dutch is Puglet's brother (of The Daily Puglet), a Dalmation that loves the color pink. He had an episode of GDV and had to have emergency surgery way far away from his home. His Mom will now have to find a way to pay the vet bill and most likely ground transportation for Dutch to get home again. There's some super cute stuff up for grabs and all the proceeds go to help pay the huge bill.  It'd be great if you found something special there.

Everybody have a great week and be sure to spend some time doing fibery things and lovin on your pets if you have any.

Ok, here's just one, a repeat, for those of you that have to have it...

Thank you for coming. I hope you find something interesting or entertaining. There is much more fiber goodness to see over at Wisdom Begins in Wonder so be sure to hop over there to check it out.

I've been gifted this week...

I have a friend. Yes, I know, we all have friends. This particular friend was extra super nice to me this past week.

First she gave me this super cute bag from her Etsy Shop...
I love the little button she adds to her bags...
then she sent me this pattern...
Now, I must say, I am a little suspicious of the pattern gift...the previous week she showed me this particular project in Ravelry. Followed by the statement that I should figure out how to knit it so I could show everybody (meaning her) how to knit the fancy-schmancy stitches. LOL
I just might take her up on that. Won't she be surprised? I love this shawl and will definitely be making use of this pattern soon. And Susan, if you actually come by here and take a look...you know I'm kidding...

So for now I'm trying a little project of my own, inspired by another friend (from work)...it involves felting so it'll be an adventure. Here's a peek...
It's great to have you stop in, please comment so I know you've been by. If you're interested in yarny, fibery stuffs and would like to see more hop on over to Wisdom Begins in Wonder where Andrea hosts Fiber Arts Friday. Have a great weekend!
