Happy Friday the 13th! My very favorite day. I'm a 13er...born on the 13th, son born on 13th, husband born on 13th, married on the 13th...you get the idea.
This day is special because I'm heading out to Douglas (which is on Lake Michigan for those who don't live in these parts) to a little 50s decorated cottage with a fantastic lake view (made even more fantastic by the new snow) to knit/spin/crochet/drink/talk with some of my Yarnie friends. I promise to take pictures to show you next week.
This week I have just one project that I'm working on...called Hinagiku Hat. It's a slouchy hat with 3 inches of 1x1 twisted rib then a whole lot of daisy stitch. Progress so far...
you might recognize the yarn. Although the color is terrible in these pics. It's the last skein of the Berrocco Ultra Alpaca that I purchased for The Saint's Big Ass Sweater. It's much dreamier knit on size 7 needles, LOL
What are you working on these days?
If you'd like to see some more projects you can check out the peeps that post to the Fiber Arts Friday round-up over on Andrea's blog.
This week LittleDog says...
don't forget to bundle up before you go outside this weekend. It's chilly out there!

Ooooh, gorgeous hat :) And sounds like you have a wonderful day planned too!
I love the number 13, not that I have any of the special associations that you do, but I like when people don't shy away from it ;)
Your slouchy hat is going to be amazing, and I know you'll have a wonderful time with your like-minded fiber friends this weekend! ENJOY!!! XXO-
I love the hat! Have fun this weekend!
Hahaha, he's so cute!!!
I am very jealous of your retreat, and the hat looks great so far!!!
Jess
Daisy stitch? That's a new one for me. It looks great so far.
Have a fantastic weekend. :-)
The hat looks great so far, I've never done either stitch before. Love your puppy pic too!
I'm loving the hat so far - I'm kind of a big grey fan. And I'll also echo the daisy stitch query - although I do know there's a daisy lace stitch pattern, which does not seem to be what's happening in your slouchy hat.
Keep LittleDog warm (he looks good in his coat!), and have a great weekend.
That must be the hat required the hundred-stitch cast on and all those k3tog. It looks great so far and you'll have a matching hat with your husband's sweater. How cute!
Have a fun knitterly weekend!
Rascals says: Hello LittleDog :-)
Super hat, lovely pattern
Great looking hat. Enjoy your special day. It's my hubbies birthday too.
A snowy cabin sounds good to me right now. I love the hat.
Happy Friday the 13th! And enjoy your retreat, having just returned from one I know you'll have a blast! Lovely hat and dog!
Oh that Pug is such a character. I love him. You are pretty neat too. Love the hats you have been making.
Totally jealous of your weekend get-away. Lovin' that hat too. Have a great weekend.
I like L.D.'s weekly words of advice. And your hat of course. That stitch is so pretty and not as difficult as I thought. Thanks for showing me. :) Have a wonderful weekend!
Little dog looks very nonchalant in his cape ...
Love the hat!
Beautiful looking hat so far! Lovely colored alpaca.
