and a fun time was had by all...
especially the staff...LOL
the We-B-Q'n team was up all night at the local park grillin and chillin...
they cooked some tasty meat with their trusty smokers,
our granddaughter climbed the wall...
and then they packed up and headed for home...
I think I hear The Saint snoring...

I shoulda gone back to bed this morning...
But I didn't go back to bed...I went to work like a good little worker bee and had the weirdest day...I have had on-going difficulties with our billing since we had a software update a few weeks ago and today I figured out that a big bunch of the billing from last month never even printed...that means it didn't get mailed either...dammit! I was fixing that little situation most of the afternoon and will continue to work on it tomorrow...
Hence the sweating wine glass on my desk right now and this is not the first of the evening...hope this blog post makes sense when I'm done, LOL. So anyway, I guess it was a good day from the perspective that I figured out what the problem was before it got totally out of hand. meh
I've been knitting a bit on my Spring Forward socks and I love them! It is a super easy and fast pattern and I'll definitely be making more of these. Perhaps the ChickenLady would like some? She's been whining about the fact that her graduating from her college courses should justify my making her some socks...I tell ya!
Please go visit my friends and say hey! They're all nice and creative and I love them. I love you guys!!!
Boomer says hey too! And good luck to the We-B-Q'in team this weekend!

as the last few hours of vacation tick by...
There was sun, rain, sometimes both at the same time...
I finished the Fascine Braid Socks and started Christine's favorite, Spring Forward Socks
We ate great food, cooked by The Saint over the open fire
We're always sad to leave, especially this trip since we made some new friends, but it's good to get home and sleep in our own bed...and get a good shower!
Hope you all had a great week.

cotton and a contest
Thank you for coming. Here, have a beautiful rose from one of my bushes...

I've been knitting with Second Time Cotton the past few days and I really like it - alot!
First came a soap holder from 101 Designer One Skein Wonders

then a couple of cloths that I'm making up.

I plan to take them camping since they dry so nicely and they're just rough enough to have good exfoliating qualities.
...and don't fluffy of clouds on a sunny day remind you of cotton?
What's your favorite form of cotton?
Are you working on any projects with cotton?
Would you like to do a little project with some cotton?
Post a comment telling about your favorite/current knitting/sewing project involving cotton fiber and I'll do a little drawing on Saturday, July 11 from the comments posted by Friday, July 10 @ midnight EDT.
If you're the lucky winner I'll send you a couple balls of kitchen cotton for your next little project.
Good luck!
