Welcome back! If this is the first time you've visited this blog, thank you for stopping by. Don't forget to leave a comment so I'll know you visited. When you're done here if you're interested in seeing more fibery blogs check out Wisdom Begins In Wonder. Andrea has a blog circus of fibery peeps for you to see and enjoy.
It's been a busy work week but I have managed to knit on my lunch break 2 days this week. I haven't been able to do that in so long I forgot how much I enjoy it, and how much better it makes my entire day.
The latest sock is progressing nicely, ready to start the heel right now. Looks like this...
and the blankie has grown a bit. The rounds are so many stitches now that I'm not even going to count them. About a week ago I was up to 350 sts on a round and since there are increases ever other round it's considerably more than that now.
In case you don't see my FB posts I spent the weekend breaking in my new Birks...
they're super comfy and got LittleDog approval too.
Have a great week!

Fore!
Hello fiber peeps! I've been busy with something but not sure what. This week I did play 9 holes of golf with some co-workers...first time in over 10 years. About every 4th swing I saw a bit of what I used to be able to do. I'll be suffering with aches and pains for a few days though. I really should get more exercise ;)
You can see lots more fibery stuffs by visiting the crowd over at Wisdom Begins In Wonder. Tell Andrea hey for me!
There was a nice birthday celebration and I got this fun card...
Last couple of nights I've been knitting on this cute little project for a co-workers little girl. I found a couple skeins of yarn in my stash that worked out just right. Here's what I've got so far...
and I cast on for the next pair of socks...
Art Prize 2012 started this week so I believe I'll get out and see some art this weekend. What will you be doing? LittleDog even went out to see some art last year...
he told me to tell you he says hey! and don't be thinking you'll see him in a pink tu-tu any time soon.

Her bag was packed...
and she was ready to go.
I sold my Ashford Traditional. Now I can order a jumbo flyer for my LadyBug. By selling my jumbo flyer and asking my family for a gift card to Paradise Fibers for my birthday, which they so nicely got, I have enough $$ to order the jumbo flyer today! Didn't have a use for the Traditional anymore so was able to make another spinner super happy by selling it to her.
This week's staycation line-up...I finished these socks last night...
Did some spinning with the drop spindle that my friend Emily gave me...the fiber is 100% Corriedale
and made pretty good progress on the Serenity Blanket. I'm well into the second ball of yarn.
Up next on the sock needles will be this Opal yarn from Rain Forest collection #2.
The Saint's stitches came out today so he's happy to be wearing his Crocs and socks now (he definitely doesn't care about fashion). On Wednesday we smoked a few salmon...
and of course LittleDog has to get his two cents worth in...
Thank you for stopping in to see what's up here. If you'd like to see what my fibery friends are up to lately hop on over to Wisdom Begin In Wonder and check out the blog circus for Fiber Arts Friday. Have a wonderful weekend!

Friday before vacation...
and I'm holding my breath. Can't wait to have the week off. Not sure I'll get much done with Franken Foot around the house but won't have to answer the alarm every morning for a week and that will be nice. Speaking of Franken Foot, he's progressing well...not as good as if he followed the Drs instruction and stayed off his feet but better than nothin. Some of the stitches came out today and more will come out next week. He's got a serious case of cabin fever but as of this date has not given in to my suggestion of learning to crochet...I'll have to work on him next week while I'm home :)
I've been doing a bit of knitting and thinking about spinning. Here's this weeks knitting progress...

Serenity Blanket-top pic is most true to color
yes, it's another swatch - I think I got the row gauge pretty close this time
When I went to AGS to knit with friends on Tuesday I came away with some pretty awesome stuff. Emily gave me a bottom-whorl spindle and Michelle gave me a braid of Yarn Hollow fiber that she wants me to spin for her. It was quite amusing to me since I had on a purple shirt that night too...
Well, I have to get back to tagging favorites over on Ravelry...I can't believe I had over 500 favorites and of course, they all needed tags. Now I can search through my favorite hats, sweaters, socks without having to go through all the other stuff that's in there. I'm sure I didn't need to tag all of them in on night but it just goes with my overly-organized tendencies. :)
Jump on over to Wisdom Begins in Wonder and see what some other creative peeps are up to.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Smooches from LittleDog and grand-dog Early!

FAF 8/31/12
Wow, Labor Day weekend is already upon us. It's been so blazing hot all summer I feel like I missed it. When you try to stay in the a/c all the time it doesn't leave much time to spend outside. We have had a couple of good fishing outings though. What was the most fun you've had this summer?
I've spent more time swatching this summer than in all the years I've been knitting. Perhaps it's the sign of my knitting maturity? I know that I don't want to knit another sweater that doesn't fit when I'm done. Only have to do that once to learn a lesson. So, here's my third swatch for the Eisen sweater...
This was knit with two different needle sizes, the dental floss is the dividing line (you may have to biggie-size the pic to see it) I've just knit the first row of the twisted rib segment. Hoping this yarn will give me the gauge I need.
There has also been a little progress made on the stripey sock. I had to switch to DPNs those circs were driving me crazy for some reason.
Last Friday morning The Saint had his foot surgery so he's been laying around the house looking at this...
I'm trying to talk him into learning to crochet so he can make some hats to give away this winter...stay tuned for any further developments...
One of the benefits of the big-ole-foot is that we've had take-out a couple times in the past week. One night we decided on Thai food and I added an order of Crab Rangoons, they not only looked good they were yummy too.
Hopefully you've all had a great week too. If you'd like to see what some other creative peeps have been doing lately hop on over to Wisdom Begins In Wonder and check out the Fiber Arts Friday posts.
Thanks for coming by, have a great week.
don't you agree that he must be well healed? LOL

FAF 8/25/12
This post is part of Fiber Arts Friday. Be sure to check out all the creative folks that post over at Wisdom Begins In Wonder where Andrea is a fabulous hostess.
Hello! I'm so glad you stopped by. By the time this is posted I'll be hanging at the hospital with The Saint. He's having foot surgery and we have to be there at 7:40am... I better get my knitting packed up.
I hope you've had a great week and are looking forward to a fun weekend.
I've been knitting like a crazy person so haven't been spinning much. I'm knitting the heel flap on my second orange/red stripey socks,
I knit a swatch for a sweater I want to knit (yeah, yeah, no smarty comments about swatching)
and have done quite a few rounds on the Serenity Blanket. (worsted weight yarn on size 7 circs)
Last weekend I went to Michigan Fiber Festival...saw lots of fiber friends, beautiful yarn and fiber and some animals. Not sure why but I didn't take a single picture. Here's the SwampThing I bought though...
Today I found two new projects I want to tackle some time soon...this and this.
This weekend is the big AQS Quilt Show here in town...hopefully I'll get a chance to get over there and check out all the pretty quilts (900 of them!). Can't imagine seeing all of them but I'd like to see a few.
What are your plans for the weekend? Any new knitting projects floating around in your head?
Whatever it is you're up to, I hope it will be fun!

I'm late but I'm here!
Whoa, this day snuck up on me and I have some nice pics to share with you this week. Happy Fiber Arts Friday to you all. Hop over to Wisdom Begins In Wonder to see what else is going on with some other creative peeps.
Sample Sock #4 for Yarn Hollow...
Could you send LittleDog some healing thoughts this next week please? He's having to take some big horse pills for a UTI and I know he feels tortured having to eat all this peanut butter, LOL
I'm off to the Michigan Fiber Fest tomorrow...hopefully I'll have some interesting festival pics to show you next week.
